Employers: Ten illegal workers caught at restaurant

A restaurant in Manchester is facing a penalty of up to £100,000 for employing illegal workers following an operation by our officers.

Acting on intelligence, officers visited Chennai Dosa, Chester Road in Stretford at about 21:30 on 6 December 2013. Individuals were questioned to check if they had the right to be in the UK.

Ten Indian men aged between 24 and 50 were found working illegally in the large restaurant. Nine of the men were arrested and transferred to immigration detention pending removal from the country. The...
