You can use this service to request a local authority to accept and send your British citizenship application to the Home Office. You will not be able to use this service if you apply for a certificate of entitlement to the right of abode.

Some local authorities can also accept and send your first British passport application to Her Majesty’s Passport Office (HMPO) at the same time you submit your application for British citizenship.

They will make sure that your application is correctly completed. They will not be able to give you citizenship or pass... port advice.

You will need to bring your:

  • original passport
  • original documents
  • a printed copy of your application form

Local authorities must be registered with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner to provide this service.

Using this service does not guarantee the success of your application.
